On January 26 there was a meeting with Dilakian brothers in the Loft. The hall was full of visitors who were inspired with the kindest story. But not many people, even the director of the Loft center, knew before who are the authors of the famous Armenian cartoon “Found Dream”. The brothers, Hovhannes (Hovik) and Gagik (Gaqo), came to share their life stories and show those present their artwork. They do various types of illustrations. They paint on hats, bottles, cups, plates, and on many other objects. According to them, they even paint on people.

They are the sons of famous Soviet actor Tatul Dilakian. Their family was in close friendship with another famous Soviet Armenian actor Mher Mkrtchyan, who did the sound of the old man in “Found Dream”. Two months ago the Dilakian brothers created a new book called “Hors Arev, Mors Arev.” They were also promoting the book in the Loft, which contains Armenian metaphors and their literally illustrations.

The brothers did not attend any art schools. They are self taught artists. In high school their grades of all subjects, except painting, were very low but despite it the brothers found and realized their dream. Their style of illustrations and paintings is simple and very clear for all viewers. According to the brothers, they prefer simplicity and positivity in their artwork. They live in New York city and visit Armenia regularly. One thing that the brothers said and stood out for the attendants was that they come to Armenia charged and leave Armenia discharged.
